Take this professor if you want the grade, not necessarily the knowledge because you really won't learn with him. Tests were very easy, projects (2 done in pairs and 1 done individually) were more on the difficult side but still doable. I'll take a Gordon class every semester just because he does not care enough to fail his students.

Exams and the grading of homeworks are very generous, so I would focus on the projects; make sure to start early, as the class has few graded assignments; they are a very fair difficulty though. Lectures are of generally poor quality. Despite this, I would recommend attending, as Gordon is probably the kindest and most understanding CS professor.

Gordon is a really nice and down to earth guy who really does care about the students he teaches but unfortunately his CSE330 course lacks any rigor or difficulty at all and at the end I don't think I learned all that much.

There's not much to say about Gordon. People take this class because they want an easy A. You won't learn much, and what you do learn won't stick with you. His CSE330 class was somewhat interesting; 3 projects, 2 exams. Projects are basically on your own. Group work but you can work solo.

I went to like 5 lectures and got a 102%. I personally did not learn anything, but, obviously if I went to lecture I probably would've. If there is one thing I learned though, Southwest Airlines needs to fix the data structure they use to schedule flights. Overall, super nice caring guy. He is like the Christ and Carter the anti.

Took him for 330, now for 340. He knows what he's talking about, and he seems to really care about interacting with the class, instead of just mindlessly lecturing. He gives a lot of advice about the real world of CS. Lectures could use a bit more details, but they are not bad. Projects are worth 60% (20%/ea), fin/mt are 15%/ea, rest is hw + EC

Goated professor. Prioritizes students wellbeing over force feeding unnecessary difficult material, gives clear test reviews, and extends projects whenever there is a need for it. Overall just an awesome guy who does education right. Projects can be a little tough, but there are so many resources for help. Take this guy!

Class is 2 Homeworks, 3 Projects, and Midterm/Final.. Projects are grouped(if you choose) and take a while but aren't unreasonable. Every project is graded on Gradescope with test cases so you know what your score is. Exams aren't too bad and follow the homework and lectures. Gordon's a cool guy too, easy to chat with and wants you to succeed.

Professor Gordon is amazing!! He is one of the few very kind Professors who genuinely cares about their students; he goes the extra mile by extending deadlines and offering support. Projects (2 group, 1 individ) can be hard but they are very rewarding, and with Gordon there is no reason to receive a low grade/not learn. Take him for anything u can!

I love Gordon as my professor. Unlike many others at ASU, it is always clear what is expected from me. The expectations are always resonable and fit the class level. His lectures are pretty good but the material he provides is very helpfull and if you take notes on his lectures they will also be very helpfull.

I normally don't bother with reviews on here but Gordon deserves it. Best Professor I have had for a CS course. Lots of extra credit, good exam reviews, lots of time on projects, and very understanding. Other Professors need to take notes. Get this man promoted ASAP.

Best 340 professor there is, trust me, I've taken all of them. He cares about his students a lot. I wish more professors were like him. The projects are tough but he makes it so everyone has an opportunity to finish them. Lots of opportunity for extra credit!

3 projects. All available to be done in groups of up to 4 people and can be done solo if u want (don't do it alone). The 3 projects consist of 50% of the grade, and midterm and final are 50%. Midterm and final are open note. Recitations are also extra credit. Very Nice guy!

3 projects, 2 HW, 2 exams. A lot easier than Bazzi and any other professor honestly. This course is rough and takes time, however he gives lots of opportunities for extra credit (including in projects) and his grading is a lot easier than the rest. Very nice guy. Recitation attendance is extra credit too.

Group projects made up the bulk of the class in which - you don't really learn from him. Start early on those and you should be good for the most part. What actually saved us this semester was him removing proctoring for our exams, that's what pushed his rating from a 1 to a 2. Chill guy but a lazy professor ngl.
