I am starting to see a few issues with TT E02 errors. Still not sure exactly what problem is. We find a little build up on electrodes, some warping on electrodes. Combusiton #s good. Gas pressure good. But still happens periodically. What say others about this, anyone else seeing a bit of a pattern?? Still love the boiler but just wunderin. Tim

      airflow!!!

all sorts of stupid stuff, like debris in the intake or the exhaust, or the heat exchanger – to a backed up condensate trap – (just had one of those on a Lochinvar and the float-sw in the trap was stuck – so it’s smart display kept quiet) – if you live around the eastern seaboard – we’ve had an unusual wet season you could have water in the intake or exhaust – or if the exhaust goes horizontally for a long distance and sagged in the middle – it could collect water and block – happens a lot when the cellular foam core pvc is used instead of solid – lots of times – it’s the ac contractor that runs the pvc instead of the boiler installer and they screw it up

on day – hopefully soon, all the modcon manufactures are going to wake up and realize (like the car people realized a long time ago) that basic flame and pressure sense is bogus, you need to measure real mass airflow, and exhaust O2 levels to know what’s really going on – eg – it you have X RPMs but the airflow is not there, then you have a blockage – if it’s only a partial block then you can alarm it, mod down the boiler, instead of just locking it out, it’s not rocket science

trouble is, that a MAS (mass airflow sensor) costs them about $120 and an o2 sensor about $35 – and would add about $500 to the retail cost

      Every E 02

I've had was because someone turned off the gas to work on something else without turning off the boiler. Don't discount stupidity. Stupidity happens. WW

      My first E02

Just went thru this on a Excellence. Touchy light ups, sometimes resulting in E02. Checked everything, and replaced ignitor just in case. Checked ground wires from ignitor. After quite a bit of time, and a call to TT with no resolve, noticed on attempts to light up manometer reading dropping out each time then going back to @11" w.c (LPG) .

It ended up being a bad 2 month old new regulator . Call to gas co. replaced, all's well.

      TT E 02 problems

I am having problems with E 02 errors on my new Triangle Tube Solo 60. It seems tohappen like this: The boiler will ignite and heatmy indirect hot water heater.Once the hot water is satisfied, the boiler shuts off. Then, if I use hot water soon after (say within 15 minutes to an hour) and the boiler needs to turn on again, then the E 02message happens. IfI don't use any hot water and the boiler stays off for over an hour or so, than everything is ok.

Not sure if this happens when modulating for heat, or if it is just related to hot water.

      Any ideas?

Anyone else havingE 02 problems? Tim, did you ever find out the cause of your E 02 problems?

      Water heater

I too have a problem with the Excellence boiler shutting down after firingup the water heater, silimar to scott_r. It started after the boiler guy bled the system and turned some of the parameters up. I turned the water parameter back down to 140 degrees. Now when one showers there's a good chance the boiler shuts down with the E02 error either at the end of the shower, or sometimes in the midst of a longer shower. I haven't noticed the heat by itself ever turning the boiler off. The boiler guy claims it has nothing to do with him. What is the probablecause and solution?

There was a technical bulletin recently

Some newer versions of the MCBA (boiler controller) had issues with ignition, especially on propane. See this thread:
