WHERE CAN I USE THE REWARD?

The Reward may be redeemed toward purchases of most merchandise through the front-end registers (excluding self-checkout) at Costco warehouses in the U.S.

If you wish to use the reward amount towards a purchase on Costco.com, you may purchase a Costco Shop Card (which is redeemable online) with your reward at a warehouse location.

WHAT PURCHASES QUALIFY FOR THE REWARD?

The Reward is approximately 2% of pre-tax purchases (less refunds) of most merchandise purchased through: front-end registers, most ancillary business registers at Costco warehouses, and Costco websites in the U.S. and Canada by U.S. and Canadian residents. Also included are Special Order Kiosk item purchases as well as qualifying purchases made directly from Costco Travel once travel is completed.

Only purchases made by the Primary and active Primary Household Cardholder on the account will apply toward the Reward. If one of these cardholders are removed during the accumulation period, their purchases will be removed from the Reward amount.

HAVE I USED MY REWARD?

The 2% Reward is issued approximately 2 months prior to the member’s renewal date, in the Renewal Statement, and reflects the Reward earned up until the issue date. It comes as a paper certificate and is redeemed at the register with a cashier. If you believe you should have received it and have not used it, please contact us using the options on this page and speak with an agent.

HOW CAN I SEE MY CURRENT 2% REWARD ESTIMATE?

If you’re the Primary member on an Executive Membership, you can check your current 2% Reward estimate by signing in to your Costco.com account. As long as you’re verified, you’ll see the estimate in the Membership Information section of your Account Details. Once your Reward is issued, your Costco.com account will show the estimate of your next Reward.

CAN I RECEIVE MY REWARD EARLY?

No. The 2% Reward is issued approximately 2.5 months prior to the member’s renewal date, in the Renewal Statement, and cannot be issued early.

WHAT IF MY REWARD IS LESS THAN THE UPGRADE FEE?

The Reward is not guaranteed to be equal to or greater than the Executive upgrade fee paid. To receive a refund for the current Executive upgrade fee, the membership must be canceled or downgraded to a Gold Star or Business Membership. Any 2% Reward issued or accrued will be subtracted from the refund and forfeited to the extent it exceeds the amount of any refund.

CAN I USE MY REWARD TO RENEW MY MEMBERSHIP?

You can use your Reward to renew your Costco membership at any front-end register (excluding self-checkout) or at the membership counter of your local Costco.

HOW MANY EXECUTIVE MEMBERSHIPS CAN I HAVE?

Limit one Executive membership per household and business. Costco reserves the right to treat businesses with the same or similar addresses or with identical, similar or related ownership as a single business and as such, limited to a single membership.

IS THERE A MINIMUM OR MAXIMUM REWARD AMOUNT?

Reward accumulations less than $1 will not be issued. The Reward is capped at and will not exceed $1,000 for any 12-month period.

WHEN DOES THE 2% REWARD BEGIN ACCURING?

The Reward is calculated on purchases made after the Executive upgrade occurs. Purchases made prior to upgrade do not qualify for the 2% Reward.

WHAT DOES THE DATE ON THE 2% REWARD CERTIFICATE REPRESENT?

The date on the top right corner of the 2% Reward Certificate in the Renewal Statement is the date the Reward was issued. It is not an expiration date.

WHAT IF I’M UNABLE TO REDEEM MY REWARD AT THE WAREHOUSE?

If a member is physically unable to redeem their Reward at a Costco warehouse, a Reward can be converted to a Costco Shop Card under the below circ*mstances only:

  • Incapacitated
  • Moved out of the area from a Costco (this could include Military)
  • Unable to visit Costco due to the Coronavirus pandemic

Please include the following in your request:

  • The physical certificate
  • Your membership number
  • Your name
  • Your address
  • Any additional contact information

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 2% REWARD AND THE CITI CREDIT CARD REWARD CERTIFICATE?

Costco Executive Members receive a 2% Reward on qualified purchases at Costco. The Reward is issued by Costco approximately 2.5 months prior to the member’s renewal date, in the Renewal Statement.
