PM Modi to address election rallies in Jharkhand, West Bengal

Breaking News UPDATES, 19 May 2024 Latest News Today: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold an election rally in Jharkhand’s Ghatshila. He is also scheduled to visit West Bengal for election campaigning. In Bengal, the Prime Minister will address three rallies in Purlia, Bishnupur and Medinipur. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav will hold a public meeting in Prayagraj at 2.30 pm. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will address six election rallies on Sunday.

    Mumbai Police receive threat call to blow up McDonald’s in Dadar

    Mumbai Police Control room received a threat call, in which the caller informed that there would be a blast in McDonald’s located in Dadar area of Mumbai. The caller said that he was travelling in a bus when he heard two people talking about blowing up McDonald’s. After the call, a complete investigation was done but the police did not find any suspicious object. Police are further investigating this matter, said police.

    An Air India Express flight from Bengaluru to Kochi made an emergency landing at Bengaluru after a fire was noticed in one of the engines, the Bangalore International Airport Limited said on Sunday. All the passengers and crew were evacuated and no one was injured, Air India Express said in a statement. The crew members alerted the Air Traffic Controller and a full scale emergency was declared.

    A horse was injured and a few vehicles were damaged after a hoarding collapsed due to strong winds in Maharashtra’s Pune city, police said. The billboard crashed to the ground between 5 pm and 6 pm on Saturday outside a wedding hall near Kavdi Pat toll booth on the Pune-Solapur Highway, an official said. The incident comes days after a giant illegal billboard in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar area collapsed on a petrol pump due to gusty winds and unseasonal rains, killing 16 persons and injuring 75.

    9 killed, 17 injured as bus catches fire in Haryana

    Nine people, including five women and a 12-year-old girl, were burnt alive and 17 injured when a moving tourist bus caught fire near Dhulawat village in Haryana's Nuh district in the early hours of Saturday, police said. The incident took place around 2 am on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway, they said.

    The bus was carrying around 60 people, all residents of Punjab's Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana, who were returning from pilgrim towns of Mathura and Vrindavan. All of them are relatives, the police said.

    IMD issues warning of heavy rain in many districts of Tamil Nadu
